Raising the Bar

A Nurse Manager had a problem to solve. He invested a full year in pursuing various certifications for his nursing staff only to realize later that the one area of his ED that had the greatest clinical demands calling upon the broadest knowledge base with the most practical nursing experience 24 hours a day, seven days a week, was his triage "out front." He also knew that triage and the ED wait room possessed a higher potential for risk than any other place in his ED. As a manager, he certainly wanted to have all of his staff educated, and he looked for what he could "get by with" until he heard about Triage First. By seeing what Triage First had to offer, he realized that what an organization invests in could tell him what that organization thinks of his profession, and settling for anything less than comprehensive training for his staff would tell him a lot about himself and what he wanted his department to offer their patient population. Triage First's Comprehensive ED Triage Course has raised the bar. He doesn't know why anyone would settle for less.
