What's New at Triage First

Triage Specialist Course

New this year, the Triage Specialist Course is a week-long course designed to build upon the strengths of individual nurses who have demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to the process of quality improvement and competency in the triage arena. At the completion of this course it is expected that the nurses will return to their individual departments having gained an in-depth understanding of the complexities of the triage process and the knowledge and expertise to be a resource to other healthcare providers within their department. The course material and the discussion points are designed to bring a more focused and advanced understanding of all aspects of emergency department triage nursing.

We are planning to have at least six Triage Specialist Courses in 2007. All will be held in the beautiful Asheville, North Carolina, area. If you are interested in attending the course, please complete and submit the Triage Specialist Course Application Form at our website: www.triagefirst.com.

CTAS and ESI Pocket Guides

CTAS and ESI Pocket Guides are being developed and will be available in the near future from Triage First. These pocket guides will be an excellent resource for all emergency department nurses who work in facilities that have chosen either ESI (Emergency Severity Index) or CTAS (Canadian Triage Acuity Scale) as their 5-level acuity scale. The pocket guides will provide the triage nurse a quick reference that is easily accessed to assist with their acuity decision-making. If you would like to be notified when they become available, call the Triage First office toll-free at (866) 369-8029 or email us at info@triagefirst.com.

Ongoing Triage Education Online
(Subscription Service)

To provide continuing triage education to emergency nurses who have completed our 2-day live education, Triage First will soon offer a quarterly online subscription service, including 10 triage case scenarios followed by teaching points and a quiz. Continuing education contact hours (CECH) will be awarded to participants. For more information, call the Triage First office toll-free at (866) 369-8029 or email us at info@triagefirst.com.
