Triage First Services

Triage First is a consulting and education firm that has spent the last decade providing comprehensive and innovative solutions for emergency departments across the nation.

Education
Our education services are widely acclaimed, and we have seen evidence that if even one person in an ED has received our training, the culture of that ED can change.

Triage First offers several options for education, including a half-day customer service training suitable for all departments, our original two-day comprehensive workshop (which includes up to 10 hours of online triage and clinical expertise training), and a more advanced five-day Triage Specialist Course. The two-day workshop can be presented at your facility, and is also available to individuals registering for open workshops, such as those listed in the column at the left. To receive the full benefit of Triage First's education, we recommend that you bring us in first for consulting so that the education can be tailored to fit your specific needs.

Consulting
Our specialty as consultants is the ability to provide in-depth analyses of ED patient throughput and triage systems – including point-of-entry and patient throughput processes, clinical expertise, customer-service and personnel issues, and the physical plant.

With our intimate knowledge of ED systems and best-practice solutions, and our expertise in state-of-the-art QI techniques, we can diagnose your ED's problems and provide a detailed prescription for success.

Implementation
Because most ED staff already have more on their plates than they can handle, implementating sustainable change in their department can seem overwhelming. Triage First offers help: a full ED CQI program, which includes onsite as well as "virtual" implementation services, project management, an ED CQI "toolbox" course, and real-time Internet access to a facility-specific implementation website.
