What's New at Triage First

Ongoing Triage Education Online: CONTACTS

NOW AVAILABLE: To provide continuing triage education to emergency nurses, Triage First now offers a quarterly online education module called the Continuing Triage And Competency Training Series, or CONTACTS. Each quarterly installment will feature ten new triage case scenarios (adult and pediatric) followed by teaching points and a test. Four continuing education contact hours will be awarded each quarter to those who pass the test.

For more information or to register, call the Triage First office toll-free at (866) 369-8029 or email us at info@triagefirst.com.

Two-Day Live Workshop

New price structuring makes our live education more affordable, especially for smaller facilities... While online education certainly covers many aspects of triage, our live, 2-day Comprehensive ED Triage Education Course remains popular. We understand that for smaller or rural facilities, the cost of a live program can sometimes be prohibitive. Therefore we have created new affordable options and pricing. Call (828) 628-8022 for more information.

CTAS and ESI Pocket Guides

CTAS and ESI Pocket Guides are being developed by Triage First and should be available by June of 2007. These pocket guides will be an excellent resource for all emergency department nurses who work in facilities that have chosen either ESI (Emergency Severity Index) or CTAS (Canadian Triage Acuity Scale) as their 5-level acuity scale. The pocket guides will provide the triage nurse a quick reference that is easily accessed to assist with their acuity decision-making. If you would like to be notified when they become available, call the Triage First office toll-free at (866) 369-8029 or email us at info@triagefirst.com.

Triage Specialist Course

Recognizing the need for nurses who are experts in triage, Triage First has developed the Triage Specialist Course. Often referred to as "triage boot camp", the training takes place over five days and earns successful participants 41.7 Continuing Education Contact Hours.

The Triage Specialist Course is designed to build upon the strengths of individual nurses who have demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to the process of quality improvement and competency in the triage arena. At the completion of this course it is expected that the nurses will return to their individual departments having gained an in-depth understanding of the complexities of the triage process and the knowledge and expertise to be a resource to other healthcare providers within their department. The course material and the discussion points are designed to bring a more focused and advanced understanding of all aspects of emergency department triage nursing.

If you are interested in attending the course, please complete and submit the Triage Specialist Course Application Form at our website: www.triagefirst.com.
